A native of Brazil, Thuany grew up in the big city of Rio de Janeiro before moving to America, developing a rich appreciation of diverse culture and unique architecture. She is an ardent volunteer, serving as godmother in two Brazilian institutions; one of which offers support to poor communities and the other which engages in the rescue and adoption of street animals.
