Alexis served in the U.S. Army for over a decade as a Mass Media Communications Sargeant while earning bachelor's and master's degrees. She now works in Georgia as a communications director. Erickson completed ROTC while earning a business degree at the University of Pittsburgh and served as a captain in the Army Reserves while holding a full-time role as Chief of Staff at a financial institution.
