With a view to the West overlooking the Caribbean Sea, this charming and unique property is known as Crayfish Bay Organic Estate. It is an original Cocoa Estate that was built in the 1800's and comprises 15 well maintained acres of land that produces some of the world's finest cocoa. There are three natural springs on the land, one of which is drinkable and a dam built by the French in the 1600's. A beautifully crafted Iron Bridge that travelled all the way from Birmingham in the United Kingdom adds a lovely touch to the vast landscape as you walk amongst the lush vegetation. The soil is rich and fertile and there is a huge selection of tropical fruits and vegetables being grown on the estate including banana, avocado, papaya, mangoe, cherry, coconut, pumpkin, breadfruit, sour sop, nutmeg, pineapple, callalloo (like spinach) various types of citrus including oranges and limes. The buildings comprise "The Little House" , a delightful wooden cottage built in 2008 that encompasses green heart, purple heart and Cabakali wood from Guyana, "The Chicken Shack" which is a neat one bedroom structure with a wooden verandah, "The Boucan" which is currently the residence of the owners of the property and is a converted 19th century brick and stone barn and two "Fermenting Sheds" that were refurbished. Recently another wooden cottage "Tree Tops" was added which is rented out for holiday lets. All lands and buildings used for cocoa purposes are organically certified and there is a fully functioning Chocolate Factory. Some of the worlds most famous chefs are using cocoa that originates from Grenada due to its superb quality. The property is also ideally situated for solar power to be installed in the near future. The Crayfish Bay Organic Estate is approximately 15 minutes from the main fishing village of Gouyave in a quaint area known as NonPareil, 45 minutes from the capital city of St. George's and approximately 1 hour from the International Airport.
