Kay is a real estate broker, researcher, educator, advisor, wife, and mother. Born and raised in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, she attended Chicago Public Schools and state universities. She earned a Ph.D. in Educational Policy with a minor in Urban Planning and concurrently coaches Chicago Public School teachers through the Urban Teacher Education Program at the University of Chicago. She is the living dream of working-class parents who came from humble beginnings on the plantations of Hawaii and the farmlands of Texas. A true believer in the power of knowledge, her career has always focused on equipping others with a love of learning to achieve and surpass their goals.
Kay has over 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of education as a K-12 classroom teacher, researcher, and instructor of higher education. Her research and expertise has contributed to the knowledge base of diversity, equity, and belonging, teacher education, cultural competency, and most recently cannabis. Through teaching courses at the University of Chicago, consulting, publishing, participating and presenting at national conferences, and as a member of highly esteemed education organizations, Kay believes that knowledge should be shared and applied to make the greatest impact. She utilizes this knowledge of people, education, and communities to drive her passion to see children, families, and the city of Chicago thriving.
As a Chicago broker in residential, commercial, and investment portfolios in real estate, understanding and meeting the needs of her clients is the highest priority. Through research and education, analyzing neighborhood knowledge, and utilizing market insight, Kay helps clients to maximize their real estate investments whether buying or selling.
